Ali & Mommy

Running and jumping and rolling -oh my!

Ali went to gymnastics - cheerleading tonight. Yes, Aunt Holli Cheerleading! I swore to my sister I would do my best to dissuade my daughter from the vindictive life of a cheerleading. Mind you... My life was nothing like the "cheerleader murder moms" in Texas. I must say I had wonderful experiences most of my career, however I have tried to encourage Ali with ALL types of extra curricular activities. We have done ballet, or course and gymnastics last year, but Ali and her friends wanted the combo class of tumbling and cheerleading. Ali goes to a gym where a guy I cheered and worked with owns! It's pretty funny to run into each other with our kidos now.
Ali had a great day at school! I went to pick her up and she met me with a huge smile and her teacher said she was super good today... Oh yeah!!! She got her "book club" books and got so excited she could already read a few of the pages (her teacher had helped her)! She wanted to go home an read. Wow - not another afternoon of SpongeBob! I am so proud of her.
When Ali was about 2 she loved to play this Dora the Explorer game on the computer and she always played it on "easy". She found it again today and was so excited she could play on "hard". I am so amazed by her ability on the computer - she must get it from her Aunt Holli. It has been unbelievable. She literally has been using a mouse since she was 18 months. I can sit down and want to help her and she gets frustrated with me cause I slow her down. I get the "OK mom I've got it"! And then the look - you know the look.
Thanks for visiting Ali and I!!
Ali says:
I like being a cheerleader, I love being in gymnastics and I got to wear my grey sweater(?) and I went to school today - I um... I got my book order - one is a Cat book - and one is It's Hard to be 5! And the last is It's the Night Before Kindergarten - we read them all - we read the It's Hard to be 5 twice - it's really funny! I was so good today I got to go get a icy afterschool and watch tv! It was a cherry limeaide icy.
See ya later!

Ali strikes a pose in her new tennies - how cute is her figure?!

Dentist!!!

Poor Ali... She has had quite an experience with the dentist lately. I spent tons of time finding "the perfect" dentist by asking friends, my dentist, her pediatrician, etc. Ali loved him, but he was very expensive. I was able to get Ali in the OU dental school which is unbelievable. Ali will be able to get the rest of her dental work done and other stuff too- braces etc, barring no bad behavior, nonpayment, no show for an appointment. Today was her 2nd visit, she had her teeth cleaned, x-rays- the works! The dentist came out to talk and said that 3 of her 4 fillings had cracked and how long had it been since she had them filled? Well... The past few months, like 2ish. He was shocked- so was I ...To say the least. He said they needed to be refilled to be able to last the 12 year molar stretch! Great, I said, OU is cheap and all, but doing it a month after I already paid the first "great dentist" isn't going to cut it. I am such a chicken I'm not even sure how to handle the other dentist- do I call him, write him, what?? Lord help us all!!!

First trip to the "good dentist"
Ali did great and had 2 teeth drilled and filled ( or so I thought)!!!

NOW TO THE IMPORTANT STUFF- ALI TOLD ME TO SAY THIS!!!

Ali says:

"I know how to snap my fingers now! I have lots of friends at school, everybody in my whole class is my friend! I love school, I like my teacher, I like to go to school but I'm always tired when I go and get home. I went to the dentist today and got my teeth cleaned- they are really white! I love my new dentist he is really nice and looks and talks like aunt Holli's old friend Vuhdi. ;( I want to be a dog doctor when I grow up and a ballerina. And since I went to the dentist I can't even one piece of sugar. I'm going to Nemo on ice at the state fair this weekend- I can't wait- I love the fair and the fair food!! (mommy does too)Good night- love everyone- miss everyone- see ya soon.

Love tons!! - Ali Grace

Back!

We're sorry for the extended vacation from Blogland. Ali and I are still trying to get into the swing of school, lessons, sanity, you know the deal... and are not doing all so well. Aunt Holli had sent a few pics to post (they were sent last week), we are a little slow, anyway it's good to be back and there is a ton more to blog on, but I have a book review to type and it must take some sort of precedence if I am ever going to get out of school. Love and blessings to all! May the families involved in all 9-11 attacks find peace and happiness in their futures.
